Brothers Cherry Bakewell
Brothers Cherry Bakewell
08 September 2023 4/10 It has a very distinct cherry flavour which made me laugh as it’s atypical for any cider to have this taste. It’s unusual and very weird. I’m starting to think if anything from Brothers is normal…
Thatchers Gold
Thatchers Gold
22 August 2023 5/10 A pretty typical medium dry cider with leans more towards the dry side rather than the medium side. It’s light and refreshing like most ciders, but its overall taste is nothing special which is a bit of a shame given its name.
Henry Westons Old Rosie
Henry Westons Old Rosie
12 August 2023 10/10 This again is on the sweeter side of things, but it’s down a few notches which just happens to be perfect to my preferences. In fact, I would consider this my favourite cider of all time. It’s absolutely glorious!
Also, as a side note: This is also the strongest cider I’ve ever had at 6.8% ABV, but it really didn’t taste any stronger than the other stuff I’ve tried.
Henry Westons Vintage Rosé
Henry Westons Vintage Rosé
30 July 2023 7/10 Two words: Extremely Sweet! It leans a LOT more towards the sweet side rather than rather than the advertised “Medium”. Still, it’s a nice and refreshing cider; I wouldn’t mind trying it again in the future.
Thatchers Katy
Thatchers Katy
23 July 2023 10/10 This is my first time ever trying out a cider from Thatchers and I must say, the Katy is excellent. It does lean towards a sweeter taste rather than a completely medium dry cider which it claims to be. However, this was a light and refreshing drink with a prominent juicy apple taste. I highly recommend this one and it’s as perfect a cider can be.
Brothers Rhubarb & Custard
Brothers Rhubarb & Custard
07 July 2023 4/10 I first had these in 2020 and I can still recall its unusual taste which remains unchanged to this day. However, I must’ve not paid attention to how sweet these were back then (or maybe I just didn’t care) as I found them to be EXTREMELY SWEET today. This is the sweetest cider I’ve ever encountered, and I must admit that I am not at all fond of it. Surprisingly, the flavours were nicely blended despite their unconventional nature for a cider.
Henry Westons Organic
Henry Westons Organic
19 June 2023 5/10 Maybe I expected a little too much from Henry Westons as I really enjoyed their Cloudy Vintage cider, but the Organic counterpart just wasn’t as great. It lacked the sweetness I was looking for, but it was at least a refreshing drink.
Aspall Premier Cru Cyder
Aspall Premier Cru Cyder
12 June 2023 6/10 You can never really go wrong with a glass of Aspall, they know their stuff. However, I’m usually not a huge fan of extra dry ciders like this one, but they were at least very smooth and refreshing. I’ve yet to try their other offerings, so perhaps this one just wasn’t it for me.
Old Mout Cider Kiwi & Lime
Old Mout Cider Kiwi & Lime
06 June 2023 9/10 This was a delightful cider – light, refreshing and not overly sweet. I liked enjoyed the citrusy and tangy notes it carried, which added a pleasant edge to the flavour, though I wished it was more pronounced in the overall taste. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as is a top tier cider.
