These switches were sent by Akko for review and testing purposes. I was NOT PAID in any way to write this review. Impartiality will always be a top priority here at KeebWorks; this one included.

TL;DR

Their quietness is truly their defining feature. They’re incredibly muted and make for an excellent choice for any ultra-quiet keyboard build. If you’re the type to prioritize silence, look no further. Just be aware of their mushy nature as with most dampened switches.

Smoothness: 7/10

On-centre keypresses are slightly scratchy with minor inconsistencies present at very slow keypresses.

Off-centre keypresses perform very similarly with slight scratchiness and inconsistencies at very slow keypresses.

Overall, this is less than stellar compared to most switches by Akko (especially compared to the Akko Haze Pink Silent), but compared to the rest of the market? This is still easily above average.

Weighting: 4/10

According to Akko, these switches actuate at 2.0mm at 50g with a total travel of 3.3mm.

In the real world, they felt slighter lighter than what the specs would suggest. They felt closer to 45g, and in some cases, lighter. They’re similar to the Akko Haze Pink which aren’t suited to my preferences.

Now, what about consistency? It’s well-known that Akko has a reputation of releasing ultra-consistent switches, so you would think these would the same, right? Yes and no. These are well above average in consistency when compared to the rest of the switch market, but they do (ever so slightly) fall short compared to the Akko Haze Pink. It’s not enough that I would recommend against these, but these definitely have more inconsistencies compared to most of the switches in their line-up.

Overall, these are still in the upper echelon when it comes to consistency, I just wish they had a heavier version for me to enjoy… perhaps, next time.

Sound: 7/10

These are much quieter compared to the Haze Pink, MUCH quieter. Testing them out side by side makes it seem as if the Haze Pink isn’t a silenced switch! (Seriously, listen to the sound comparison in the video, the difference is insane).

Their quietness is truly their defining feature. They’re incredibly muted and make for an excellent choice for any ultra-quiet keyboard build. If you’re the type to prioritize silence, look no further.

Overall, despite them being quiet and a bit on the boring side, they’re still pretty good sounding.

Typing Performance: 4/10

These switches are very light, lighter than what the specs would have you believe. I made plenty of typos and couldn’t be 100% comfortable with them as with most lightly weighted switches. Though I’m glad they aren’t high-actuating speed switches.

They’re also mushier compared to the Haze Pink which make these feel more like a rubber dome – an aspect most enthusiasts don’t like. Of course, the upside to this is the quieter overall sound. But typing feel wise? Not great.

However, they remained extremely consistent throughout my testing period with regards to a normal typing speed. I did start to notice very minor levels of inconsistencies at slower typing speeds though – This isn’t a dealbreaker by any means.

Additionally, these switches only have a 3.3mm total travel as opposed to the 4mm of the Haze Pink. This was instantly noticeable and could throw you off if you’ve been typing on full-travel switches for a long time. It does feel weird to basically bottom-out every time which may not suit some typists. However, I didn’t really mind it.

Overall, it’s ultimately the mushier key feel that make these a different switch compared to the Haze Pink, typing feel wise anyway.

Gaming Performance: 5/10

These have one point higher compared to the Haze Pink as their ultra-quiet nature allowed me not to get distracted in quieter games which is a huge bonus, especially when playing stealth games.

However, they essentially have the same issue as the Haze Pink – the light weighting. They’re too light for me to have any reasonable control in faster paced games. It’s only when things slow down, I start to regain control.

On the other hand, their consistency was excellent and is one of the main reasons I can tolerate using such light switches.

How about the shorter total travel? It’s certainly noticeable, but it didn’t affect my performance in the slightest. Though, your mileage may vary.

Overall, if you’re looking for the quietest switch for gaming, add these to you cart, these are what you’re looking for.

Final Score = 27/50 (54%)
